The Beginning - Reflection

My first impression - Chapter 4

Recount in your own words what has happened in the book? At any point in the story's plot so far.

As far as i've read i got to know the Benett family. Mr. and Mrs. Benett have 5 daughters, what i didn't get at first because Mr. Benette calls Elizabeth Lizzy, so i was a little confused.
As i know is the Book from an older Age, and i think this becomes very clear as soon as you've readed some pages of it.
So i know the Bennet Familiy is living in a small town, it's called Hertfordshire. And as a new Neighbour, a young, kind Gentleman called Mr. Bingley moved in, there was a big discussion in the Family, as Mrs. Benett wanted her husband to get to know the new neighbour.
In the Book i got the impression, that marriage is one of the major themes. Not only in the book, i think it was also more important in the age where's the book playing in, than in the new age.
The Intention why Mrs. Benett wanted her Husband to meet Mr. Bingley so bad, was that she wanted him to make some kind of advertising for her daughters, as all of them weren't married, and she was thinking of one of them marrying Mr. Bingley.
One thing i found interesting, was that Mr, Bennet said that he think one of his daughters, Elizabeth aka Lizzy, is the most precious one of his daughters. So Mrs. Bennet talked against this and said he can't have a favourite daughter, but he kept his opinion.
So Mr. Benett went for it and talked with Mr.Bingley, who organised a party for some girl in the new town, his cousins, his sisters and a male friend. The friend turned out to think a lot to highly about himself, and didn't care for any girl on the Party. But so didn't they for him, because they thougt he's very arrogant.
But the main person, Mr. Bingley danced alot with the oldest of the Benett sisters - Jane.
As he thougt she is the most beautiful of them.
To end this Post, i wan't to say something about a part i found very intresting, because it's some kind of personality analysis in it, what i thougt it's quite special to have something like this in one of the first pages of the book.
The part was acting about Mr. and Mrs. Benett. Mr.Benetts mind is described as highly complicated, what for me means he's smart, maybe thinks more and has deeper thoughts about life than others.
On the other hand his wife, Mrs. Benett is described as a less difficult mind, and i think she already made the impression that this is the truth because she gets mad over some silly things and she's never understanding what her man wants to say, even if his thoughts are a lot more relatable for me as a reader.
So i'm wondering a lot whats happening next, especially how's it turning out to go for the daughters, and if all of them are going to be happy.

  1. Good, though this is more of a summary of what you've read than really saying your opinion so far.

A few things: past simple and past particple of read are read, not readed. Nouns in English are written in lowercase, except for a few special ones, like countries and languages. Instead, "I" is always in capitals.

The Bennet's live in Hertfordshire. Netherfield is the name of Bingley's estate (=his house, back then big estates like that had names, like Pemberley, which is Darcy's house and Longbourn, which is the Bennet's house).
At the beginning of the book, none of the five Bennet daughters are married.

Reflection

Reflection Write an advertisement aimed at a practicular audience for the book you are reading: Dear read fondly I have a novel for you to read, but only if you're interested in a good story, with a lot of plots and a clever storytelling. It's playing a long time ago, what doesn't mean you can't transfer it to nowadays. It's written in an old elegant language and style. The story is about a young fellow who doesn't like to interact with people he doesn't know, what makes him seem pride. And about a girl who is always a little bit fast with judging over other persons, that's why the book has the title it has. Pride and Prejudice is an outstandingly good book, which is going to make you think about values in your own life. It's like a window to a long time ago, you get an insight how it was to life 300 years ago. So if you like to read an engrossing story, with different actions you can't foresee, than is Pride and Prejudice your book!

Empathy

Empathy Choose an important moment in the story for one of the character.(ie. what that character would put into his or her personal diary for that day when the important thing happened). Try to write in a style you think fits the character's personality. Dear Diary, It was a special week for me , because Jane Bennet came to visit Mr.Bingley and his sister, in order to dine with her. On her way to get here, she was riding her horse, but the wheater was really bad. So shortly after she arrived here, she got really sick. She needed to stay in Netherfield for a while, she wrote a letter to her family to inform them she's sick and she won't get home soon. So her sister Elizabeth Bennet decided to come and look after her. She is not such a good rider as her sister so she had been walking the whole way. The two Bennet sisters were very happy to see each other, and Elizabeth took care of Jane. Elizabeth didn't want to leave Jane so she also decided to stay ...

Analysis

Analysis Wirte about the style the author uses. As the Book was written in 1796, it's written in an old style of language. So you never see any slang words or words which are used nowadays. The style how the sentences are written, is also different from today. It sounds very polite how the acting persons express themselves. I think it's also out of ordinary that hardly any bad words are used to insult someone. If once something bad is said to anyone, they still use polite words. But the insultings can still be just as hard as the mean words which are used in our time, because they insult the others with telling them the truth and saying exactly how badly they think about the other person. I think it's also harder to read such an old book, because i needed a lot more concentration to read out of the context. But the sentences i completely understood i thought sounded verry nice in this elegant style and without all the bad words, even if it's unusal to read. 171 ...
